Building sculpted from lightweight concrete

Residential and commercial building in central Berlin

With the new residential and commercial building in Berlin's Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, architect Roger Bundschuh and artist Cosima von Bonin have designed a sculptural building that looks as if it could have been chiselled from a single block. The façade made from Liapor lightweight concrete with a black exposed concrete appearance helps to give the building its very special feel, while the material's special structural characteristics also made it possible to create the complex geometry of the building.
