Solid Liapor walls form an effective barrier against cold, wind and weather. The combination of expanded clay spheres and cement creates an internal concrete structure that acts not only as a thermal insulator but also stores the heat. In the robust hollow chamber block Liapor SL-Plus, the chambers are pre-filled ex works with an porous fill that is resistant to ageing, extremely stable, vapour-permeable and water-repellent. The already excellent insulating properties of the Liapor block are enhanced even further by the porous fill and take on a whole new dimension with outstanding top thermal conductivity values of Lambda = 0.08 W/(mK) and a heat flow value U of 0.20 W/(m2K) at a block thickness of 36.5 cm. With its SL-Plus solution, Liapor has created an energy-efficient material with excellent thermal insulating properties which is perfectly suited for the KfW efficiency house 55 energy efficiency standard (= KfW 40) and for the construction of buildings meeting the passive house standard. The material is already being used to build forward-looking low-energy houses that exceed all the requirements of the German energy savings regulations (EnEV) of 2009.

With its low-absorbency and rough surface, the material provides an excellent substrate for plastering that can be worked on quickly and easily using conventional drilling, sawing and grinding tools. The stable, solid outer skin of the Liapor SL-Plus block can accept any type of fixture. Nails and dowels are firmly held in place with no additional effort. What is more, thanks to the economical material costs and particularly well-designed handling capabilities, Liapor SL-Plus is also an extremely cost-effective solution.
