Acoustic insulating wall according to DIN 4219

Effective protection against noise

Liapor acoustic insulating walls provide effective protection against traffic noise. The pore structure of Liapor expanded clay makes it the ideal noise protection material. The Liapor system consists of large-format prefabricated concrete panels. These possess a static reinforced concrete layer and an absorption layer made from no-fines Liapor lightweight concrete that faces the source of the noise. The larger the surface area of the noise protection element, the greater the absorption capacity. No-fines lightweight concrete already possesses a rough structure with many uneven surfaces and voids. The surface area is further increased by the presence of an undulating or trapezoidal structure. Thanks to their optimized and harmonized absorption properties, Liapor acoustic insulating walls effectively insulate against the noise of road traffic, railways or tram lines. Another performance feature: Liapor no-fines lightweight concrete is unaffected by humidity. In fact, water actually keeps the cavities clean.

Design freedom

Liapor acoustic protection panels offer designers almost unlimited possibilities. Acoustic requirements are defined in terms of the thickness and centre distance of the ribs and the grade of the no-fines lightweight concrete. However, that is no reason to ignore aesthetic considerations. In the system proposed by Liapor, the side of the wall facing away from the sound source is smoothed. Upon request, a visually attractive lamella, broom finish or raked structure can be applied. However, blank surfaces offering complete design freedom can also be supplied. The individual colouring of both sides of the wall is also possible. In this way, Liapor acoustic protection walls can be perfectly adapted to the environment.
